White Water Rafting

I am a RAFTER!!! WOOHOOO
On a very fine Friday morning (7.10.11), I went for water rafting in Gopeng. That day was actually an outing for the tourist guide trainees. So, the trainer decided to bring the trainees for an outing in Gopeng. It is one of the learning processes through the course. So, I as the employee of the institute and a senior to the trainees have to go and monitor them. (the truth is I am there becoming bzbody)..
Well, we started our journey from Ipoh to Gopeng. And we had our breakfast in one of the famous yong tau fu noodle coffeeshop there (opposite RHB bank in Gopeng). After our breakfast, we went straight to the office in Gopeng which in charge of our water rafting activity for that day. For your information, we’re taking the services from ‘Adeline’s rest house’. They provide ‘back-to-nature’ activities and also accommodation. It’s so suitable for those nature lovers that love outdoor extreme activities. For more information, kindly visit their websites in http://www.rumahrehatadeline.com/ . Other than water rafting, they also provide a lot of activities such as waterfall abseiling, jungle trekking, paintball, caving and so on.
So, back to our journey, we were brought to ‘Adeline rest house’ using a lorry. Our vehicles were left at the office earlier and we took a lorry up to the hill. It was one hell of an experience, standing behind the moving lorry and enjoying the scenery of the village and the hills. It’s just so wonderful and it really took our minds off from the busy city life. The air is just so freaking fresh. And guess what, Gopeng indeed has a lot of ‘durian’ trees. Lol.
After we reached to the expected destination, we started to get ready and headed to the equipment place where we were given our life-jacket, helmet, and the paddle. At the same time, we were taught on the safety and briefing throughout the water rafting journey later. And yeah!! We’re ready to go.!!

Amri, Ezmal and ME!!

The whole rafting journey took about one and a half hour. 7 KM raft. And its only a Grade 1 rafting. Compare to what I did back in year 2010 in Padas, Sabah, the rafting level was up to Grade 3-4. Anyway, it was just as fun as I expected. After all, it’s my 1st time doing this activity in PERAK. I’m proud enough because Perak state has the potential to conduct such extreme activities. Throughout the 7 KM journey, I couldn't describe it. it was just so exiting and adrenaline rushing. Well, u can just look at my pictures and u can feel the hype too. The water was cold and clear, the weather is perfect. It’s just so awesome. To look at the video, pls do go to https://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10150355462508979, :)

So, when the journey almost came to the end, we were asked to body raft till the finishing point. Haha. We were once again brought back to ‘Adeline rest house’ and after cleaning ourselves up, we had our lunch there. And I am telling u guys out there, the foods were extra delicious. What I like about here is that, it requires tourist to wash their own plates and cups after using it. How smart. Hehe. So, that’s about it a short description bout my journey for water rafting. I definitely will go again and hopefully you all too will come and try for yourselves.
